Blog Post 1, Final Week, Chapter Three

Hajj is the Muslim pilgrimage in which you travel to the city of Mecca and pray with thousands of other people for an entire week. This is a way for Muslim people to get closer to their god Allah. All Muslim people are supposed to participate in this before they die. Kaaba is the building located in the center of the holiest mosque in the muslim culture. The Christian Pilgrimage can be seen as similar to the Muslim Pilgrimage because it is also about getting a better connection with god for a whole week. Christians travel to Bethlehem instead of Mecca however. In the chapter the author tells us about his attempts at believing full-heartedly in the Muslim religion and Allah. He says that he never really felt like he fit in and that the religion didn’t apply to him.
