Blog Post 3, Week 2, So You Want to Talk About Race?

Ijeoma Oluo’s book goes in depth on the amount of systematic racism that we see in not only our country but all around the world today and it is terrible and unacceptable. This is similar to our course because we are learning about the Islamic world an the West, the west being oppressive over the Islamic world. With all of the negative stereotypes that there are towards Muslim people and people from the middle east it shocking that we see this in our society today. But like it is talked about in the book So you want to talk about race? this treatment is systematic, it is programmed into peoples brains through things like the media from such a young age.
